DRAM (DDRx LPDDRx) Architecture

Course Objectives: Ever since Intel introduced DRAM memory, it has evolved in size, density, speed and architecture. It has also evolved in power consumption, most notably with the Low-Power DDRs. DRAMs have evolved to DDR4 and LPDDR4. This DRAM Architecture course describes the development of computer memory systems and covers in-depth today’s most advanced DRAM technology. The course ultimately focuses on ultra-dense, high-speed DDR3/DDR4/LPDDR3/LPDDR4 technology. Memory cell theory, operation and key device architecture differences from SDRAM through DDR4 as well as LPDDR1 through LPDDR4 are covered. The PC DIMM organization is covered, as well as bus implementations. Initialization of a memory channel is described. System design challenges, ranging from signal routing to error handling, are covered. Using waveform examples, state diagrams and truth tables, the commands and correc ...

Basic PCB Design Course using PADS VX

Course Objectives: PCB Layout Design Engineers face challenges in placing components for EMI, Mechanical and Assembly purposes. Many of them are unaware of the different shortcut keys that can be used to easily navigate within the PADS Environment. In addition, they lack the knowledge to check for errors according to DFT and DFM standards. Through this Basic PCB Design course, PCB Layout Design Engineers will be able to solve these problems. The course provides basic design process flow. Participants will also gain hands-on experience by performing actual layout procedures such as placement and routing and Gerber creation. With a better understanding of the basic IPC standards regarding proper layout practices and requirements, participants will soon be able to design high quality and reliable PCBs.   Course Outline: Day 1: Introduction to IPC Design Flow Process ...

PCB Layout and Circuit Analysis Techniques to Maximize RF/High Speed Performance

Course Objectives: This three-day course enables practicing engineers and CAD technicians to develop design rules for RF and high-speed designs, choose an optimal design tool, and organize the design process to most efficiently execute the design that will insure circuit performance, and minimize costs and production time. The goal is to improve the engineers’ RF/high speed layout knowledge to reduce the number of board turns. Upon completing the course, participants will be able to: Discuss fundamental RF and digital PCB design issues. Compare and contrast transmission lines types, characteristics, and situations in which they can be used. Describe, evaluate, and compare termination types, PCB materials and fabrication processes, and packaging types. Identify and compensate for sources of interference - EMI and EMC. Measure and fine-tune circuit performance. Iden ...

IPC-J STD 001 CIT (Trainer)

Course Objectives: IPC J-STD-001, Requirements for Soldered Electrical and Electronic Assemblies, has emerged as the preeminent authority for electronics assembly manufacturing worldwide. The standard described materials, methods and verification criteria for producing high-quality soldered leaded and lead-free interconnections. It emphasizes process control and establishes industry-consensus requirements for a broad range of electronic connections. Certification in this industry-developed and approved hands-on solder training and certification program helps enhance employee skills and performance. In addition, if your company uses J-STD-001 – or is considering its adoption – you can use the certification program to address the standard’s training requirement. Both the CIT and CIS programs provide individuals with a portable credential that recognizes their soldering skills and under ...
