Bringing Businesses and Workers Together
e2i works with our partners to develop place-and-train pilot programmes to help address manpower shortages in many industries and to tackle skills-gaps among job seekers interested in taking on the available jobs.
The following are examples of some customised place-and-train programmes launched by e2i.
Singapore Furniture Industries Council (SFIC) Institute
Working in partnership with the Singapore Furniture Industries Council (SFIC) Institute, e2i developed a place-and-train programme that seeks to place matured local PMEs to take up positions such as Project Coordinator, Retail Associate / Administrator in SMEs from the furniture and related industries.
As the co-programme manager, SFIC Institute seeks out suitable positions within the industry and matches the PMEs to available jobs. Each trainee undergoes 44 hours of customised training with e2i supporting course fees and training allowances.
Commercial Diving Association Singapore (CDAS)
Working in partnership with the Commercial Diving Association Singapore (CDAS) and KBA Training Centre, e2i launched a place-and-train programme targeting locals keen in pursuing a career as commercial divers. The training includes a training preview, aptitude test and a nine-week inland and off-shore commercial diver training.
