Labour Movement launches U Career Network and Practicing Employability Coach framework to partner Singaporeans in growing their careers

With the fluid and fast changing economic climate, it is increasingly crucial to help our working people stay relevant in their career journeys. Having built an extensive network, the Labour Movement is ready to grow and strengthen a strong and extensive group of industry professionals, volunteers, community leaders and partners to support their peers’ and communities’ employment and employability needs. The U Career Network will comprise four groups of enablers: Employability Coaches: trained specialists to provide one-to-one career guidance. Singapore Polytechnic and e2i collaborate to enhance and boost competencies and employability of workforce

Singapore Polytechnic (SP) students going into the workforce can look forward to greater support and career guidance under a new MOU signed between SP and NTUC’s Employment & Employability Institute (e2i). The partnership aims to steer students towards making better decisions to enter jobs they are trained in and to continuously excel in their career paths through a series of workshops, industry career advisory and networking sessions. The collaboration will tap on e2i’s expertise, industry networks and resources in employment and employability and further strengthens SP’s existing Education & Career Guidance (ECG) efforts. More targeted career matchmaking trialed With the enhanced Career Support Programme (CSP), more Professionals, Managers, Executives and Technicians (PMETs) can now be employed on competitive salaries. Local companies are heeding the Government’s call to strengthen their Singaporean core by working with Workforce Singapore (WSG) and NTUC’s Employment and Employability Institute (e2i) to showcase PMET jobs in the Adapt and Grow Career Series.
