Course Objectives:

Certified IPC Trainer (CIT) training provides expanded information and materials to prepare individuals to deliver Certified IPC Application Specialist (CIS) training.

Training Modules

Purpose and application of IPC-A-610

  1. Hardware installation
  2. Soldering criteria, including lead-free connections
  3. Soldered connection requirements for connecting to terminals
  4. Soldered connection requirements for plated-through holes
  5. Surface mounting criteria for chip components, leadless and leaded chip carriers
  6. Swaged hardware, and heatsink requirements of mechanical assemblies
  7. Component mounting criteria for DIPS, socket pins and card edge connectors
  8. Jumper wire assembly requirements
  9. Solder fillet dimensional criteria for all major SMT component groups
  10. Soldering, such as tombstoning, dewetting, voiding and more
  11. Criteria for component damage, laminate conditions, cleaning and coating
