Singaporeans can now search for jobs, attend interviews by prospective employers as well as access career advisory resources and services anytime, anywhere through the Adapt and Grow Virtual Career Fair.
The Adapt and Grow Virtual Career Fair is piloted by the Singapore Workforce Development Agency (WDA), to complement its existing suite of physical career services comprising career fairs, career coaching, job preparation and referral services. It allows job seekers to expand their network of contacts and connect with potential employers online. Close to 400 live chats with employers and career coaches have been lined up for job seekers. Around 50 employers are participating in the virtual fair, offering up to 500 vacancies. Job seekers can also access the latest labour market information, learn how to enhance their resumes and explore and apply for jobs online during the two-week virtual fair which runs from 7 to 21 September 2016.
Concurrently, a physical Adapt and Grow Career Fair was held on 16 September 2016. Jointly organised by e2i and WDA, visitors to the physical career fair can also access the suite of e-Career services and resources of the virtual fair and interact with 20 of the employers featured on the virtual platform. Mr Ng Cher Pong, Chief Executive of WDA, said, “WDA will continue to enhance our employment facilitation support for job seekers and hiring employers through both online and offline platforms. We are developing a comprehensive suite of e-Career services that will complement the range of programmes and services at our career centres. Our aim is to enable Singaporeans to plan for their careers and skills development, and to become career resilient.”
To further facilitate the matching of skills to jobs, WDA has also enhanced the Jobs Bank. The provision of a more precise matching of jobs and skills reduces the search time for both job seekers and employers, and also translates to increased employment chances for job seekers.
In addition to the suite of Adapt and Grow programmes, Singaporeans can also tap on SkillsFuture initiatives such as the SkillsFuture Mid-Career Enhanced Subsidy and the SkillsFuture Study Awards.
